Back to School Fashion

Well, fortunately and unfortunately it's back to school season.  That means our favorite season is just around the corner, but so is school. First day of school outfits can be tricky to pick because you want to look your best, while making a first impression true to your personality. Personally back to school outfits are really hard to choose for me because of this reason. My style varies based on the day, so I decided to gather a couple outfits that sum up the two sides of my fashion sense.

Look #1: Boho inspired

Dress: Forever 21(The belt came with it)
Shoes: Payless

For my first look i went with a Bohemian style outfit. The pattern and fit of the dress give it a softer more 70's inspired feel. To me bohemian looks simple and easy going. It's meant to look effortless, like you put on a little makeup and slipped on a dress.

Look #2: Soft Grunge

Sweater: Nordstrom Rack
Skirt: Forever 21
Shoes: DSW
Hat:Forever 21

This outfit still has sort of a simple look to it it's just quite a bit edgier due to the colors. The hat sort of stays with the 70's inspired theme while also adding a pop of color.

Makeup:

Eyes: Urban Decay's Naked 2 palette ("Bootycall" on the lid and "Chopper" in the crease)
Lips: Kat Von D's Everlasting liquid lipstick in "Jeffree"

Back to school: Fun organization tips and tricks

Hey guys, since school is sadly right around the corner and already here for some, here are some fun organization ideas to keep you on top of your school work.   -Sydney
Color coding
Everybody works differently and for those who tend to be more visual like me, color coding can become extremely helpful. Here I chose a color for each class then I coordinate that color with a notebook and a folder. You can use whatever you use to store your school work such as a binder, I use folders because I find that I just end up stuffing the pockets in binders and they take up too much room.

Planers
Planners can come in handy in every case. They keep you organized and allow you to visualize what needs to be done and with a planner you are much less likely to forget things. My planner shown about if from Kate Spade, $36

Shown above, I like using different colors for each class when writing out homework, tests, papers, and other things. I also used little neon sticky notes to write important things that can't be forgotten. Stick notes are also easy to use if you don't want to constantly take out you planner in class but you need to take note.

Backpack essentials
There are only a few things I find myself always in need of while at school. Firstly my planner, my planner obtains everything I need to stay organize. It contains due dates and reminders, I find myself lost without. As most people, I always need my phone on me which is pretty self-explanatory. I always have my wallet on my in case I go somewhere after school or if I drive to school that day, and In that case my keys also. I always need a hand sanitizeer accessible at all times to battle germs at lunch and throughout the day. Lastly, iPhone batteries tend to not last very long so I keep my Ban.do iPhone charger on me in case my phone battery runs low or dies at school.

Spring into Style

Spring is right around the corner meaning as time passes, it's starting to get warmer resulting in a change of clothing. Sometimes after months of sweaters, boots, and jeans it's hard to put spring looks together, so here's some inspiration.

Thanksgiving 2013 OOTD

Happy thanksgiving everyone! We hope you had a great day full of overheating and recognizing what you are thankful for. Since Thanksgiving outfits can typically be hard to plan and it's no fun to be uncomfortable after eating way to much, so we decided to share our comfortable but cute clothes with you!

Hannah's outfit:

 Shorts: Forever 21
Belt: Levi's
Tights: Target
Scarf: H&M
Lipstick: "Rebel" by Mac
I can't remember where I got the shirt But it's one of my favorites.
And of course I had to include a picture of my dog Mocha being a cutie pie.
This year I'm lucky enough to have so much to be thankful for it could really take up a whole post of its own. I'm thankful for my amazing family, outstanding friends and of course you wonderful followers. I hope you all had a great thanksgiving!

Sydney's outfit:

Sweater: Forever 21
Scarf: Cost Plus (I believe)
Jeggings: American Eagle
Socks: Old Navy
Boots: Target
Nail Polish: 'Casino Royal' with 'Glitzerland' and 'Black Onyx' all by OPI

Being that Hannah and myself are pretty much the same person, we both thought of including a picture of our dogs. Well this isn't my dog, but I have so many animals I don't even know anymore. This is my aunts dog Sonny/Sunny (I have no idea how to spell her name) who actually smiles, it's so cute.

"I'm thankful for my wonderful friends and family, even though my family drives me insane, I still love them and couldn't even imagine how different my life would be without them. I'm also so greatful to be healthy and have a roof over my head along with things that I probably don't need. Holla to my sibblings to taking these pictures for me, they da bomb even though they suck at taking pictures and are probably never going to read this."

50's and 60's makeup looks

Today We have our beauty post! Sydney and I did this about a week ago and finally got around to posting. We started school a couple of weeks ago and just haven't had as much time for posting. We found a bunch of inspiration for this on Pintrest and decided to try it out so here ya go!

Sydney's look was 50's inspired. To achieve this look she added a cat eye to neutral eyeshadow and a bold lip.
For her hair she pulled it back into a medium ponytail and pinned her bangs back with a little volume. She completed the look with a white bandana.
Hannah's look was inspired by the 60's. For her makeup she just did bold brows with thick eyeliner and a light eyeshadow.
To do a modern 60's-do she teased the hair on the crown of her head and pulled the rest into a low pony. To make the back of your head look more volumized slick your bangs back and pin them with a bobby pin.
